Fingers Crossed

N and I have had a horrible time getting the correct medical forms. We picked them up again on Saturday morning and we believe them to be correct! We will not know for sure until Monday when our agency emails us. This has been so hard on us. It has set the adoption back by at least 1 month. So now instead of maybe having her here in December we will be lucky to get her in January.

If these new forms are correct then the agency will approve our home study and we can send it to the INS and then get fingerprinted and wait for our 171h. This takes about 2 months in the D.C. area. We are going to beg our home study agency to ask for it to be expedited because she has special needs. We will also send all of our forms to the state of Virginia to be approved. Then everything will got to the State Department and to the Chinese consulate.

Home Study almost done, and pic

Our home study is almost done - we are just waiting for it to be approved by our agency. They are still waiting for our finished medical forms, too, though - our doctor forgot to do a test for liver function for T, so we have to wait for those test results to come in and re-send the medical forms :(

We also found out that we can post Evie's picture now that we have received pre-approval (PA) from China! We have actually had PA for a while, but didn't know that we could post the picture until recently.

Here is a picture of our beautiful daughter! -

Little update

Hmmm well N and I have no power again!!! It went out about 4:45 yesterday and as of 6am this morning it was not up yet. This time we tried to stick it out at home and let me just say..............WE will never speak of this event .......Ever!!!!

It was miserable. It was so hot and humid and because we has the windows open it was LOUD!!!! Now I do not mind not having T.V. or even the computer but no A.C. was terrible!

We got up early because I start school again and there was no hot water so N and I look like drowned rats. I am at school because at least here there is A.C. and food.

We lost power Sunday and it was out for 24hrs and because it was so hot we lost about half of the things in our fridge and freezer. N and I went out Monday night and bought new food but now that too may need to go. We think it didn't stay cool because our fridge is so old!

So it had not been a pleasant weekend and the plans we had didn't happen.

Now for the adoption.......The agency needs our lab reports and a form for firearms needs to be redone. For the dossier we got our local background checks done and they were done right!!!

We are hoping that the medical reports will be done correctly this time and we will need to do the financial report again but after that we will have most of our documents ready.

We are still hoping to have our finalized home study done by next week so we can send it of to the INS!
